The Key Laboratory of Pharmaceutics of Guizhou Province has been established by the Guizhou Science and Technology Department in 2009 on the provincial key discipline “Pharmaceutics” by integrating the resources of "The Modern Pharmaceutical GMP Experimental Teaching Center" and "The Guiyang Medical University's Modern Pharmaceutical Laboratory for Prevention and Treatment of Endemic Diseases".

 “Running on the platforms of drug synthesis, structural modification of drug leads and biological activity screening, pharmacodynamic material basis and quality control, and pharmacokinetics, its research activities have been focused in three key research areas: drug production technology, pharmacodynamic material basis and quality control of Chinese materia medica (CMM), and biological pharmaceutics and pharmacokinetis.”

“Breakthrough and achievements have been made in the fields of extraction, separation and purification technology of CMMs and their active principles, novel drug delivery systems for CMMs' active components and fractions, pharmacodynamic material basis of CMMs and pharmacodynamics-based quality study of CMMs, new drug dosage forms and their pharmacokinetics and bioavailability evaluation. Up to present, over one hundred postgraduates have graduated with a Master's degree. In 2011, the center has been approved the master's degreeprogram in pharmacy, and has become the high-level pharmacy specialist training base.
